An investigation has been launched into the circumstances of her death.
Mr Wilkinson said at the time of her death: “She was well loved by friends and family, but especially me and the rest of the family, especially her children.
“She suffered with a long illness for a number of years, but despite the difficulties and challenges she battled with, she did her best to keep our family together for the sake of her children.
“She was still teaching her grandchildren many of the important things in life, even as her illness took its toll.”
Officers have been in contact with Mr Wilkinson and neighbours.
Mrs Perkins leaves behind husband, Kenneth, and their three children.
Chief Inspector Martin Mackay said: “Officers are keen to trace anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the local area of Braehead Road and Craigie Terrace in the days and hours leading up to last Friday.
“If you have information that may assist the investigation please call 101.”
